Melissa Gurgone

I’m an experienced and passionate English teacher from Australia, now based in Italy, with over 15 years of teaching experience. Although I began my teaching career in 2010, moving into English language teaching 10 years ago truly ignited my passion for the profession.

I work with a wide range of students — from those preparing for IELTS or Cambridge exams to professionals who want to refine their business English and communicate with clarity and confidence in the workplace. I also support learners who are focused on public speaking, interview preparation, starting a new English-speaking job and conversation fluency.

My lessons are professional, structured and goal-oriented, while also warm, encouraging and highly personalised. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges and learning style, so that our lessons feel focused and productive — never generic. Whether we’re working on exam strategy, advanced grammar, pronunciation, or natural conversation skills, I aim to make every session engaging and practical.

One of my core beliefs is that confidence is a powerful learning tool. When students feel supported and capable, their progress accelerates. I prioritise building confidence alongside accuracy, helping you speak more naturally, think more flexibly in English, and trust your ability to communicate effectively.
