Yes. Lesson times are displayed according to the time zone selected in your TEO Academy account. Before booking, please check that your time zone is correct so that tutor availability and scheduled lesson times appear accurately. You can review your upcoming lessons from your student dashboard.

Create or sign in to your TEO Academy student account, then visit "Find a Tutor" along the left side menu. Open the profile of the tutor you would like to learn with. Review their experience, subjects, prices and availability, then use the booking option on their profile to choose an available lesson time and complete payment.

Your confirmed booking will appear in your student dashboard. Please check that your account time zone is correct before choosing a lesson.

What is a trial lesson and how does it work?

A trial lesson is a paid introductory teaching session that allows you and the tutor to discuss your goals, explore their teaching approach and decide whether you would like to continue learning together.

Tutors choose whether to offer a discounted trial. Where a trial option is available, its duration, price and appointment times will be displayed through the tutor's profile or booking options before you confirm. A 30-minute session is generally recommended, but the options available may differ between tutors.

Under TEO Academy's fair-use policy, you may book one discounted trial lesson with each of up to three different tutors. There is no subscription and no obligation to book further lessons afterwards.

Trial lessons are booked and paid for through TEO Academy in the same way as other tutor lessons.

A free consultation offered directly by TEO Academy for a specialist programme or service is separate from a tutor trial. It is not an English lesson and does not count towards the discounted trial limit.

Yes. You can join your TEO Academy lesson from a smartphone or tablet using a supported web browser.

For the best learning experience, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer where possible, particularly when viewing documents, typing, sharing files or using the interactive classroom tools.

Before your lesson, make sure your browser is up to date and allow access to your camera and microphone. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, Safari is recommended for reliable audio and video access.

Many tutors use their own lesson materials, activities and resources based on the student’s goals. The materials provided may vary depending on the tutor, subject and type of lesson.

Tell your tutor what you would like to improve so that they can explain how they plan and deliver their lessons.

TEO Academy lessons normally take place in Lessonspace, an online classroom designed for live teaching and learning.

Sign in to your student account and open your scheduled lesson from your dashboard to access the classroom. Before the lesson, use an up-to-date browser and allow access to your microphone and camera.

Refunds and lesson credits depend on the circumstances of the booking and the applicable TEO Academy cancellation and refund terms.

If there is a problem with a lesson, in the first instance click on report a problem at the top right of the lesson screen.

Payments, refunds and credits should always be handled through TEO Academy. Please do not arrange an off-platform refund directly with a tutor.
